Mae Burton Slayton, 95, of Oakland, TN and formerly of Bartlett, TN, died February 7, 2013. She was born in Inverness, MS, on September 30, 1917, and later moved to Greenville, MS. Mrs. Slayton was a retired bookkeeper for Leader Federal Savings and loved her needlework, quilting and all crafts. She was also a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and the Summer Avenue Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Slayton was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Randolph Slayton and is survived by her daughter, Peggy Ann Slayton Huff of Oakland, TN; grandsons and their wives, Donald E. and Angie Huff of Millington, TN, David W. and Daena Huff of Oakland, TN; and four great-grandchildren, Chris, Amanda, Michael and Ashley. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, February 11 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home and a graveside service will be at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 12 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Greenville, MS. The family request memorials be sent to charity of donor''s choice.
