~ Our Matriarch & Legacy ~
In loving memory of our mother, Ms. Mamie Mae Scott , who passed away on December 31 st , 2022 . Mother, you will always be in our hearts, and we will never forget you. We love you so much.
Our mothe r was one of the strongest , most courageous , bravest, and kindest wom e n and our family was blessed to have her as the head of the family. She came to know the Lord in 1992 through The Greater Lewis Street, M. B. Church , that since became her extended family. She graduated from the American School High School Program in February of 1977 . S he went on to work hard , provid ed for her family , and retired from Memphis Light, Gas, & Water Division (MLG&W) June 27 th , 2009 .
Ms. M amie Scott was born to the late Marion and Eva Mae Williams on December 27,
1943. S he met loves of her life, and they went on to have four beautiful children : S on, Ervin Ray Williams, daughter, Barbara Ann Chambers , daughter , Regina Louise Lanier, and son, Anthony Lenn Williams . Our mother was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.
Ms. Mamie Scott was predeceased by her dear sister, Mrs. Emma A lberta Fields . She is survived by her children Ervin R. Williams, Barbara A. Chambers (Rex Chamber s ), Regina L . Lanier (Walter Lanier, Jr.) of Aurora, CO , and Anthony L . Williams of Victorville, CA ; her nephew, Andre H. Fields (Sandra K. Fields ) ; her grandchildren , Shatilly a N. Suell , Shoneka D. Williams, Tiffany D. Suell , Tabitha L. Johnson, Kenyada L. Norfolk, Pamela A. Hardy , Lamar A. Williams, Javan I. O. Lanier, Antonio L. Williams ; and a host of other relatives and friends .
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ms. Mamie Scott 's name to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital , as this organization was important to her. Services will be held on Saturday, February 18 th , 2023, at the Forest H ill Funeral Home and Memorial Park , 1661 Elvis Presley B oulevard , Memphis, T ennessee 38106 .
