Mammie Pearl Young, 79, of Memphis, TN, passed away on March 9, 2015. She was a LPN for 40 years and loved caring for her patients. After retiring from nursing she worked for 12 years at the Follett Book Store at Southwest College helping students. Mrs. Young was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed caring for people her whole life. She was preceded in death by her husband Hudson H. Young, Sr., Mrs. Young is survived by her daughter, Moncile Young; son, Michael Young; brother, James D. Jackson; two grandchildren, Crystal Thomas, Priscilla West; two great grandchildren, Trinity Hope West, Alexander Lynn West; and nieces and nephews.Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 13 and service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with interment following. The family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
