Obituary

Marcene McKenzie Moit, 91, of Memphis, TN, died March 23, 2015, born November 4, 1923. She was a charter member of Colonial Baptist Church. The widow of Roger Edward Moit, deceased in 1978. She was a graduate of Rutherford High School. She was a member of the nursing staff at Baptist East Hospital and a member of the Eastern Star. She worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II. She is survived by her son, Stephen Bennett Moit, whom she called precious and my darling son of Sanford, FL and his wife, Esther Vitello Moit. She leaves a companion Carl H. Burnett, formerly of Chicago. Other survivors are two brothers and their wives, Gerald McKenzie and his wife, Mary Agnes of Memphis, and Shurley B. McKenzie and wife, Carolyn of Jacksonvile, FL, also a cousin Evelyn Porter of Rutherford, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, John George McKenzie and Lottie Ellen McKenzie and two brothers, Edward and Russell McKenzie of Memphis, TN. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 26 and service at 10 a.m. Friday, March 27 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with interment following.
