Obituary

Margaret, Emily Langston, our beautiful ME ME 94 passed away suddenly after a series of hospitalizations this last year on Friday, October 13, 2023. ME ME was born on November 7, 1928 in Topeka, Kansas to William Armstrong and EVA MAE Drummond. ME ME's father William bought and sold many things for a living.  Their mother Eva always had a garden wherever they lived.   At one time their father William purchased many pigs and Me Me and aunt BIZZY and contributed to their care. Me Me and aunt Elizabeth her sister, AUNT BIZZY fell in love with the baby pig considered a runt and begged their parents to keep him they loved the  baby pig , they named him Wiggs and gave him much tender, loving care. Me Me was raised with seven other siblings.   She and aunt BIZZY worked harvesting wheat, ME ME and aunt BIZZY also worked as waitresses at the Jayhawk restaurant. ME ME   later became a nursing assistant at the VA hospital in Topeka Kansas and worked on the psychiatric floor. She was voted the favorite nursing assistant, because of her genuine, caring and participation with the patients in fun activities. ME ME later became a beautician. ME ME  had three children, Janie, Eddie, and Bruce by her first marriage and later became a single parent raising them on her own in Topeka. ME ME  later met Papa, William Travis Langston, SR, IN TOPEKA , who WAS in the Air Force. They were married on January 14, 1956 and the family then moved to Memphis Tennessee were Papa WORKED  at Lincoln glass company. ME ME said that on the way to Memphis her sweet son Eddie was telling people at the stores they went to ON THE WAY that he had a new daddy. ME ME   continued working as a beautician. She and Papa also had two other children, Billy and Felicia. Papa built ME ME  her small private salon by their house. The suppliers told ME ME   that she put in more perms than the local salons around her. ME ME  was always very loving and nurturing to her children and Papa. There was a lot of activity but a lot of love and later years ME ME and Papa built a home in Covington Tennessee next to Billy, Cindy and Will And the entire family  had many fun times at their home. ME ME and Papa were fabulous cooks. ME ME made amazing homemade bread and cinnamon rolls as well as Papa grilling for many family gatherings with their children and grandchildren. ME ME enjoyed reading a lot during the night. She also enjoyed with papa attending yard and estate sales. They both loved restoring and refinishing antique furniture. ME ME  also enjoyed painting concrete statues with which she placed in their yard and gave to others. It was so nice to share time with ME ME and Pa PA  on their screened in porch Having coffee or in their tin roof swing that Papa had made for ME ME AS WELL AS well visiting at their home in the mornings before they would prepare the most fabulous breakfast. ME ME  and Papa also enjoyed landscaping and working in their yard in which they received city beautiful awards. Nothing was more important to ME ME and Pa PA than their children. Grandchildren, family and friends .  after Papa passed in 2018 Me me  remained close with her children and grandchildren. She lived in her bachelorette pad at BELMONT VILLAGE for 3 1/2 years and remained active and enjoyed time with and activities and visiting with other residents. Me me enjoyed visiting with her children and grandchildren and loved her sonic strawberry, milkshakes, and onion rings. ME ME   was also a good sport about riding in the jeep with one of her daughters Felicia ME ME  the other wild girl was full of life love smiles hugs and kisses always and her family was everything to her. Me Me missed Papa Bruce and Eddie terribly, and has now reunited with them and her other family. We will miss ME ME   terribly, but know she and Papa will forever be our angels looking over us. ME ME  leaves behind her three children Janie Jones of Colorado, William Travis, Langston, Jr. and wife, Cindy Covington, Tennessee and Felicia Cowan of Arlington, Tennessee. She also leaves 11 grand children 11 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Me Me is proceeded in death by papa, her husband, WILLIAM, Travis Langston, Sr.   Theron Edward Langston, her son, and Bruce Wayne Langston her son.
