Obituary

Marian Elizabeth Marshall Jones, 92 years young, of Cordova, TN received her angelic escort into Heaven on Sunday evening, May 3, 2026. She was the widow of Franklin P. Jones with whom she celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Valentine’s Day in 2023. Frank & Marian (an honors student) graduated from Millington Central High School in 1952. She was a lifelong Shelby County resident having lived in Frayser, Millington, and Cordova. She was also a lifelong, faithful church member as well as having been baptized after coming to know Jesus as her Savior at the age of 12. She served in various positions in both The Ardmore Baptist Church (most notably the 3-year-olds Sunday School) and during two extended stints at Bellevue Baptist Church (where she was currently a member). After several years as a stay-at-home Mom, she worked in the Customer Service Department at Plough Incorporated for 16 years.

Marian contagious friendly demeanor served her and those she enjoyed spending time with well across the span of her life. She was a lifelong doll collector, Red Hat Lady participant for a season, a Mahjong aficionado for even longer, and a vivacious shopper! She and her husband loved spending time with special friends including the Hines, Smith, Baker and Curlin families among several others.

She seemed to derive maximum joy in the relationships she developed and maintained with the plethora of pets that she and the family owned and loved across the years, most as if they were family.

Marian was the loving mother of Lori Jones Williams (Steve) and Janet Jones, both of Memphis, TN and Russ Jones (Johanna) of Bartlett, TN. Another son, Wade, predeceased her. Though she certainly loved her children, she was the absolute epitome of a doting grand and great grandmother! Her grandchildren slate included Candace Echols (Jim), Landon Williams (Nicole), Steppie Karr (Reid), Tristin Walker, Courtney Taylor, and Macy Pirvu (Laurentiu). Her full quiver of great grandchildren included Robert Towne (Bo) Echols, Juliet Echols, Genevieve Echols, Evienne Echols, Daisy Echols, Vivienne Williams, Everett Williams, Nolyn Karr, Ellie Karr, Livie Karr, Kip Karr, Kannon Walker, Sutton Walker, Jameson Taylor and Elias Pirvu.

Our family wants to express our steadfast appreciation to all of the medical professionals and friends who provided care and companionship to our Mammaw.
