Marian Eliot Holt
Proctor
Apr 16, 1938 — Jun 17, 2026
Memphis
Marian Eliot Holt Proctor, 88, passed away peacefully at her home on June 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her children.
Born on April 16, 1938, Marian was the daughter of the late Bently Holt and Cora Alma Copeland Holt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy “Harold” Proctor, her son-in-law, Teddy Looney, and her siblings.
A faithful member of Providence Baptist Church, Marian loved the Lord and lived her faith through acts of kindness, generosity, and service to others. She was known for her warm heart, caring spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need. She never met a stranger and found great joy in visiting with neighbors, friends, and family.
For 43 years, Marian served as an Avon Representative, a role that allowed her to do what she loved most—connect with people. Through the years, she built countless friendships and touched many lives with her kindness, encouragement, and genuine interest in others.
Marian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She cherished time spent with family and especially enjoyed gathering with loved ones during the holidays. Her greatest legacy is the faith, love, and compassion she shared with those around her.
She leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly and a community that was blessed by her presence.
She is survived by her children, Keith Proctor and Annette Looney; granddaughters Stacey Looney and Jessi Looney; great-granddaughter Olivia Fatheddin; extended family members Jarod Looney (Heather) and children Reid and Emalynn, and Tyler Looney (Mary) and son Nash; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice team, caregivers, friends, neighbors, church family, and all those who offered prayers, visits, and support during Marian's illness. Your kindness and compassion have been a great comfort and blessing.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 22, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, Tennessee.
