Marie Evans, 89, passed away surrounded by her loving family in Memphis, TN on September 27, 2018.  Marie had been preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Louis Evans.  Marie and Louis enjoyed many years of camping and made many lifelong friends.  She was a very talented lady who loved to garden.  She enjoyed arts and crafts and was a wonderful artist.  She enjoyed many activities, but most of all she loved her Lord and was a faithful member of over 40 years to Central Church.  She also loved to play bunco and going to the casino when she had been able to go.  Left to cherish her memory are her son, Dan Evans (Michelle), and her daughter, Linda Brazelton.  Marie was blessed with four loving granddaughters:  Ashley Houston, Lacey Green, Amanda Evans, and Rachel Evans; also three great grandchildren:  Sammy, Zach, and McKenzie. Marie leaves three sisters:  Virginia Mills, Peggy Gibson, and Patty Lanier.  Visitation with her family will be on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 12:00-2:00 pm, with her services following at 2:00 pm at Forest Hill Funeral Home, East 382-1000

My Mawmaw was the sweetest most loving person I've ever had the privilege of knowing.  She was so funny and had the most beautiful blue eyes you have ever seen.  She never met a stranger and she never raised her voice.  She was full of life and beauty and she loved the Lord and her family.  I am truly honored to have her blood running through me.  Please say a prayer for our family as we will never be the same and also for her as she reunites and rejoices with all of her loved ones who have been waiting on her. I'm sure my Pawpaw was waiting at those gates asking "Re, what took you so long?"  My grandma lived a long blessed life and we are all blessed because of her.
