Marion Eldridge Addison of Olive Branch, Mississippi, passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, June 2nd. He was 95 years old.
Marion was born in Tupelo, MS, to the late Marion Ted and Mary Velvia Addison. In 1943, at the age of 18, Marion enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He was a combat veteran of the Marshall and Mariana Pacific campaigns of World War ll. He was recalled to active duty for the Korean War, serving stateside.
Marion was a successful businessman who owned and operated Chelsea Furniture, as well as selling and managing rental properties. In his retirement, Marion was an avid genealogist and active member of First Baptist Church of Olive Branch.
In 1943, Marion married his Ole Miss college sweetheart, Mary Florence Burcham (1928-2010). He is survived by their children Ronald (Becky) of Florence, AL; Stan (Leslie) of Collierville, TN; Karyn Patat of Cordova, TN; and Sean (Lynn) of Athens, AL. Marion also leaves 13 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews he loved.
Visitation with the family will be Monday, June 8, 2020 9:00am, with the service following at 10:00am at Forest Hill Funeral Home 2440 Whitten Rd.
