Marion Thomas Bull, 73, passed away on May 26, 2020 at Germantown Methodist Hospital. He was retired from his own business, Bull Roofing and Sheet Metal founded in January 1996. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wendy Bull of Memphis, Tennessee, his son, Chris Bull (Cullen, Sophia, Patrick) of Birmingham, AL and his daughter, Katie Riley (Michael, Jake, Logan) of Collierville, TN.

Marion was born on August 4, 1946 in Yazoo City, Mississippi. His parents were Joseph Morgan Bull and Cinda Mae Bull. He was the oldest son of 5 siblings, Betty Millsaps (Clay) of Olive Branch, MS, Carolyn Belmore (Michael), of Baton Rouge, LA, Morgan Bull (Julie) of Cordova, TN, and Fawnie Vaughn (John) of Covington, TN. Marion grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and graduated from Overton high school in 1964. After high school, he attended Memphis State for a brief stint and then attended William R. Moore technical school where he studied architectural drafting. His first profession, and where he met Wendy, was working as a draftsman at Roy Harrover and Associates, Architects. He aided in the new airport expansion design and used these skills to eventually become a gifted roofing contractor for the rest of his career.

Marion was extremely involved in his early years with the Memphis Jaycees and Parkway village Youth Sports. He loved helping the community and coaching children. If something needs to be done in any of these organizations, Marion was one of the go to guys.

One of his greatest achievements in life was starting Bull Roofing in 1996. He loved the world of roofing. He loved to solve the problems that he encountered everyday in this industry. The customer list of Bull Roofing was quite impressive. Thru the years the company has performed work for the Baptist Hospital System, St. Jude's Children's Research Center, University of Memphis, Desoto County Schools, Weingarten Realty, CBRE and numerous other commercial and residential buildings though out the Memphis and Shelby County area.

His greatest joy other than his family was his love for Alabama football. He especially loved the tailgate atmosphere before and after the game. If he met you anywhere in the world and started talking college football, he would invite them to visit our tailgates. Of course, it worked, we had people from all over just show up and say "hey I met Marion in Pasadena (our wherever) and he told us to come by if we wherever in Tuscaloosa". It was quite amazing how many times this happened over the years.

He will be greatly missed.

Celebration of life will be held later this summer due to Covid restrictions.
