Robert Mark Russell, youngest son of Wallace R. and Faye McAlilly Russell, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Delta Medical Center in Memphis, TN. He leaves behind his brother, Michael R. Russell; his sister, Pamela Russell Lee and husband, Glenn; and his brother, Timothy L. Russell and wife, Cindy. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

Mark was born on September 18, 1961 in Memphis, TN and graduated from Southern Baptist Educational Center in Whitehaven, TN. During his high school years he played on the SBEC football team as middle linebacker. He attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and the University of Tennessee, Martin. He joined the United States Navy and served until he was medically discharged. Mark made his home and worked in Memphis, TN for many years. For the past fifteen years he has been a resident of two care facilities in Milan, TN. The last five years he has resided at Douglas Healthcare Center in Milan, TN and appreciated all who helped care for him there.

Mark was a Christian man and read his Bible and prayed each day for all his family, other residents, his caregivers and families, and for the leaders of the country he loved so deeply. He was an avid writer and even published some of his poetry. He loved Tennessee football and always supported his team. He was a truly grateful man, thankful for all those who loved and cared for him. He always tried to give back and to help others when he could and gave regularly to St. Jude Research Hospital.

He will be buried Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Forest Hill South in Memphis, TN with a Family Memorial Service. If you would like to give in Mark's memory, please give to St. Jude Research Hospital, in memory of Robert Mark Russell
