MARTHA ADAMS, 87, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 7, 2014 after a brief illness and hospital stay. She leaves two sons, Mark Anderson of Bolivar, TN and Bill Anderson of Millington; four grandchildren, Faunne Brown, Mark Anderson, Jr., Josh Anderson and Brian Anderson; and six great-grandchildren, all of which she spoke of often and loved very much. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her first husband, Marshall W. Anderson, who passed in 1954, and her second husband, Billy C. Adams, who passed in 1978, and a son, Jim Anderson. A member of Temple United Methodist Church, she was very active in many church affairs, which included making sure everyone in the church got a card for every important occasion in their life. She loved bowling and was retired from Northgate, Cherokee and Poplar Plaza bowling lanes, where she worked for many years. The family honors her wishes in requesting that any memorials be sent to Temple United Methodist Church, 4404 Sykes Rd., Millington, TN 38053 or to St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital. Visitation will be Thursday, January 9 from 5-7 p.m. at Forest Hill East. The funeral service will be Friday, January 10 at 2 p.m. at Temple United Methodist Church, with visitation at 1 p.m. The family will accompany her to her final resting place, alongside her Mom and Dad at Grace Church in Ripley, TN.
