Martha Powell Hatchett Ballard, age 80, went to heaven in the morning hours of February 19, 2014. She was the wife of Rev. Donald K. Ballard and the late William Glen "Billy" Hatchett. She is survived by her four children, Glen Hatchett (Julie), Paula Morris (Dana), Dennis Hatchett (Cindy) and Kathy Langford (Garry). She had 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters, Ida Pearl Morrow and Curley Kimbrell. She was a genuinely caring lady and enjoyed cooking for her family. She was loved by all who knew her and she richly blessed our lives daily. She was an active member of Grace Church of the Nazarene for over 50 years. She was a retired kindergarten teacher, volunteered at St. Jude for 5 years, was a Member of the Heritage Club and an active member of the Commodore Perry DAR for 15 year services. Services will be held Saturday, February 22 at Grace Church of the Nazarene, 8979 E. Shelby Drive at 2 p.m., with visitation preceding from noon until 2 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery on Whitten Road.
