Martha Marie Lewis, age 87, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away on January 8, 2026. She was born on March 17, 1938 in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Edward and Beatrice Hill.

A woman strong in her faith, Martha loved Jesus and her church. She found joy in cooking for others, shopping, and tending to her garden and flowers—she truly had a green thumb. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Hill of Tennessee and Beatrice Mae Hill of Mississippi; sons, Phillip James and David James; brothers, Jim Hill and George Henson; son-in- law, Bruce Coleman; daughter-in-law, Sherry Willis; and grandchild, Daniel Hall.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Shirley Hall (Dale) of Jonesboro, AR and Gloria Dennison of Louisville, KY; sons, John Willis (Bunny) of Byhalia, MS, Ricky Willis (Yvonne) of Horn Lake, MS, Bobby Willis of Nesbit, MS and Mike James (Cindy) of Louisville, KY; sister, Frances Coleman; brother, Gene Hill (Dottie); grandchildren, Tony Dennison (Kim), Lisa Cullinane (John), Chris James, Eddie Payton (Cristina), Kim Dennison (Jeremy), Gayla Smith (Brian), Jason Mitchell, Ashely Payton, Rickie Willis, Shannon Mitchell, Jesse Willis (Randi), Amanda James, Kelli Whatley (Allen), Johnathan Willis, Keith James, Megan James, and Stephanie Pannell (Kevin); she also leaves behind many cherished great-grandchildren.

Martha will be remembered for her kind heart, nurturing spirit, and unwavering love for her family.
