Martha Carlene Scallion, 98, passed away on March 14, 2019 in Senatobia, MS.  Martha was born on November 28, 1920, in Sumner, Mississippi, to parents John Thomas and Martha Ann Odom Hood.  She married her husband, Alvin Arnold Scallion, on September 12, 1947.  The couple was married for 43 years before his passing in 1990.  Her family and friends will remember her as a fervent servant to her Lord.  She devoted much of her time in his service by teaching Sunday school classes for both adults and children, and was very involved in various children's ministries.  Martha was a wonderful cook, and loved to spend her spare time gardening, sewing, and painting.  In her later years, she enjoyed playing card and board games with family, and completing puzzles.  She leaves behind four children to cherish her memories:  Donald R Scallion (Pat) of Horn Lake, MS; Brenda J Wright (Dennis) of Senatobia, MS; Rheba C. Lott (Rick) of Drummonds, TN; and Chris N Scallion (Debra) of Olive Branch, MS.  From those unions she also leaves behind nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as "Grandma Scallion." Services will be held on Monday, March 18, 2019, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., with service immediately following, at Graceview Presbyterian, 7660 Swinnea Road, Southaven, MS 38671. 662-349-0133
