Marvilene Hamm
Logan
Mar 15, 1940 — Aug 29, 2026
Hernando, MS
Marvilene Hamm Logan, “Sis,” age 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 29th, 2026, at her home in Hernando, MS surrounded by family.
Marvilene was born March 15th, 1940, in Williston, TN to Floyd Aldine Hamm and Ada Duke Hamm. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, caregiver, provider, and friend. She was a woman whose life was defined by faith, strength, kindness, selflessness, and an abundance of love.
Marvilene dedicated 22 years of service to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) where her hard work and commitment earned her numerous recognitions and promotions throughout her career. She took pride in doing her work well, and her dedication was a reflection of the strength and perseverance that characterized her entire life.
Marvilene’s greatest accomplishments were not the ones that could be listed on a resume or captured in an award. They were found in the lives she touched-- in the children she raised, the grandchildren she loved, and the great-grandchildren she cherished. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and love. She was without a doubt the best cook and expressed her love through food-- wanting nothing more than to have her table full of family. She found great joy in working in the yard and gardening. Flowers and plants seemed to flourish under her care, much like the people she nurtured throughout her life.
Marvilene’s life reflected in a strong belief in treating others with kindness and compassion. She often reminded those around her to be mindful of their words and actions. She was a devoted Christian woman who carried her faith with her in the way she lived. Even through many trials and hurdles, she shared the love of her Lord and Savior.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Debra Ann Karger (George); her son, Michael Shawn Logan; her grandchildren, Shelbea Tush (Jonathan), Nicholas Hunter (Josie), Amanda Hunter, Ada Hamm (Allen), Deven Hunter, and Tyler Montgomery; her great-grandchildren, Cadence, Willow, Lilly, Aubree, Maycee, Laycee, Kinzlee, and Everly; lifelong best friend, Charleen King; her furbaby, Noelle; and many other cherished family members and friends who will carry her love and legacy forward for generations to come.
Marvilene was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Ada Duke Hamm; her father, Floyd Aldine Hamm; her daughter, Theresa Jane Logan; her six brothers, Auburn Kenneth Hamm, Howard Franklin Hamm, Jessie Buford Hamm, Cecil Belguim Hamm, William Dois Hamm, and Malcolm Lee Hamm; her lifelong partner, Kenneth Harold Logan; and many beloved family members and furbabies that she is happily rejoicing with.
