Mary Louise
Ashe
Sep 2, 1924 — May 4, 2020
Mary Louise Ashe, 95 of Memphis, Tennessee ended her journey on May 4, 2020. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and devoted friend.
Mrs. Ashe was preceded in death by her parents, Green and Mary Watts, her husband of 47 years, Malcolm A. Ashe, daughter, Myra M. Ashe, and grandson, Benjamin R. Wilkinson. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Jane Serrano and Mary Beth Harrison, and two son-in-laws, Phil Serrano and Jeff Harrison. She was blessed with grandchildren, Amanda Norton (Taylor), and Ginny Harrison. Great-grand children were Ellie Norton, Gemma Norton, Calvin Norton, and Charlee Norton.
To the family and friends that knew her most, she was known as Boozie—a name given to her as a child. She played basketball in high school and over the last fifty years she enjoyed watching and attending many college and NBA games. In 2014, she finally made it to the NCAA Final Four Tournament in Dallas TX. Boozie always enjoyed crafts and loved all kinds of flowers, especially roses and orchids. Boozie enjoyed an adventure, a spur of the moment trip or a family reunion--she was always ready to go. Boozie enjoyed life and made everyone smile that she was around. She will be missed.
The family will have a private graveside service at Forest Hill Home and Memorial Park East. A celebration of life service will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
