Mary Nell Brasfield, 87, passed away on December 21, 2013 in Collierville, TN. Nell was born on April 16, 1926 in Crockett County, TN to Jack and Nellie Duncan and was one of ten children. Nell grew up with her sweetheart, James Lambert Brasfield, who lived on a neighboring farm. She leaves behind her beloved husband, James Brasfield; children, Jim Brasfield (Barbie) and Jo Powers (Pete); grandchildren, Josh Storz, April Allen (Chris), Jake Storz (Kristin), Anna Brasfield, Justin Tudor (Chelsea) and Will Tudor; as well as great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Austyn Storz, Evie Allen, Jackson and Peyton Powers, and Brayden Tudor. In addition she leaves behind her siblings O.H. Duncan (Elizabeth) and Ann Baker; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a visitation at 11 a.m. and the service will be held at 12 noon Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 6185 Rowsey School Rd., Bethel Springs, TN 38315 on Thursday, December 26. Due to Nell''s love of children, in lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to: St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
