Mary Downs was born January 24, 1960 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Thomas E. McMullin, Sr. and Mary Alice (Cross) McMullin.  Mary passed on October 16, 2023 at 11:15 p.m. at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Patricia Ann (McMullin) Reynolds, and niece, Heather Green.  She is survived by her husband, William J. Downs; her three sons, William "Billy" Downs (Jenny), Aubrey "A.J." Downs, and Justin Justice; her step-daughter, Kathia Downs; and, her grand-daughter, Marsha Prater.  She is also survived by her brother, Thomas E. McMullin, Jr., and her sister, Brenda Joyce (McMullin) McKnight, nieces, nephews, great-nephew, aunts and cousins.

Mary worked for several years as a dispatcher for both Veterans Cab and M & M Packaging.

Viewing, visitation and graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Forest Hill Cemetery South located at 2545 E. Holmes Road, Memphis, Tennessee 38116.  Any donations in Mary's name should be made to the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County.

Mary loved her family, her pets and the Dallas Cowboys.  She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
