Mary Nelle Hardy, 92, was born in Memphis, TN and passed on Nov. 30, 2019 peacefully, at home.

She was a loving wife and mother, leaving behind one daughter Eva Clayton and son-in-law Thomas Clayton. She also leave behind 5 nieces, 2 grandsons, 1 great granddaughter, many great nieces and great nephews, and many great great nieces and great great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Minnie Martin, her 2 brothers William Martin and Robert Martin, her daughter Mary Hardy, her son Robert Martin, and a grandson Dorian Sparks.

Mary Nelle enjoyed taking road trips anywhere you wanted to go. She enjoyed going and spending a couple of weeks with her best friend Gloria Claud and various nieces. She also enjoyed talking on the CB when her niece took her to Louisiana to visit with her daughter. Her favorite trips were the senior trips she would take with her church. Mary Nelle enjoyed doing alot of things locally. One of her favorite was going to the zoo. She also enjoyed the Pink Palace and the Botanical Gardens. She was always up to going to flea markets and craft fairs. Mary Nelle will best be remembered for her beautiful smile and love of friends and family. She was a sweet. loving, and willing giver to all whom she met. She never turned anyone away from her home hungry. Living in Memphis near the railroad she often opened her back door to transients asking for a bite to eat. She would instruct them to sit on the porch and wait a minute. She would then go in and make them a plate and a drink.

Services will be Monday Dec. 9th at Labelle Haven Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS. Visitation will be for family from 10:00 - 10:15 am and for the public from 10:15 - 11:00 am Service will be at 11:00 followed by the interment at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park - Midtown, 1661 South Elvis Presley Blvd.
