Mary Elizabeth Hess, 90, was born on December 18, 1926 in Memphis, Tennessee, and passed away on June 12, 2017. She attended school in Memphis with her two sisters and one brother. She fell in love with Patrick Paul Hess and was married on July 10, 1945 in Hernando, Mississippi. She and Pat had one son, Patrick "Paul" Hess, Jr., who preceded her in death.

Mary was a homemaker, and for a short while, worked at Memphis Meat Packing in Memphis, TN. She was a world-class yard sale shopper, enjoyed estate sales, and loved to shop. She was a wonderful southern cook, with a generous heart and loving spirit.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 72 years, Patrick Hess Sr.; one grandson, Patrick Hess III; two great grandchildren, Jessica Hess of Paris, Arkansas and Patrick Hess IV, of Southaven, Mississippi; one great-great grandson, Noah, of Paris Arkansas; daughter-in-law Mary Meyer Hess of Memphis; and several nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends at Forest Hill South Funeral Home from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017, with a private Graveside Service following. Memorials are requested to be made to the American Diabetes Association or St Jude''s Children''s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
