Mary Prudence Jackson Parish, departed this life on July 21, 2013 in the comfort of her home. Prudy was born February 13, 1924 in Tupelo, MS and is survived by her husband of 67 years, Wilbur Ralph Parish. Her love for her family and church were unmatched. She leaves behind 6 children, Barbara Hicks (Benny), Julie Lakebrink, Jane Maclin (Jerry), Nancy Trenthem (Dennis) and Brenda Vance (Leslie) and Tim Parish (Edna). She was the adored grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Prudy and Ralph have been members of Leawood Baptist Church for 60 years, where she was a valued member of the choir for most of those years. She was precious to everyone who knew her including neighbors, and nieces and nephews across the country. We will all cherish our millions of sweet memories of her including her piano performances of "How Great Thou Art". Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 23 and a celebration of her life will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 24 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. The family requests any memorials to be sent to Leawood Baptist Church.
