Mary Jane Lyons, 95, a native of New Albany MS and resident of Bartlett TN, went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2025. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 74 years, Russell Lyons,  her sisters Lucille Wilder (Bert) and Louise Coward (Aubrey). She is survived by her brother James Cox (99) of Johnson City TN; her five children, Vicki Greer (Danny, deceased), John Lyons (Shari), Deborah McCullar (Joe), Janet Clement (Tommy), and Sonya Connell (Mark); 15 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews she loved. Her extended Lyons family was over 75 strong!!

Mary Jane Cox Lyons was born June 12, 1930, in New Albany MS, to parents James Walker Cox and Vera Littlejohn Cox. She was the matriarch of the Lyons family. A follower of Jesus, she was actively engaged in her churches through the years, including teaching women's Sunday School. Most recently she loved her Faithful Followers class at Faith Baptist Church, Bartlett. She loved the Lord, loved to hear the gospel proclaimed, and was a fervent prayer warrior for all her loved one. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
