Mary (Mel) Ransome Ramsey, 100, of Memphis died peacefully at home on January 21, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Orris Newel (Sam) Ramsey and her brothers, Richard Ransome and James Ransome and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Marie Ramsey Wiley, her sister Florine Ransome McAfee, and her granddaughter, Catherine Marie Wiley. She also leaves behind 11 nieces and nephews, and the extended families of Bushart and Griffith. She was a kind and loving mother, friend and neighbor. Visitation will be held at 5-7 p.m. Monday at Forest Hill East at 2440 Whitten Road, with Rosary recited at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral mass will be held on 10 am, Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at St. Louis Catholic Church at 203 South White Station, with burial at Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church.
