Mary Evelyn Noisworthy Wofford was born in Memphis, TN on January 23, 1932 to Robert A. Noisworthy and Vera V. Fuqua Noisworthy who precede her in death. She passed away on April 15, 2016 at the age of 84 years. Mrs. Wofford was an accomplished pianist, having studied at the Deshazo College of Music, then furthering her study with a concert pianist. She also served as the pianist at Wells Station Baptist Church for 47 years. Mary Evelyn was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert A. Noisworthy, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Thomas A. Wofford; two daughters, Rebekah Stewart (James) and Jennifer Starnes (David); and by four grandchildren, Kimberly, Bruce, Brooke and Bradley. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19 from 5-7 PM with funeral services to be held on Wednesday, April 20 beginning at 10:00 AM, all at Forest Hill Funeral Home East, 2440 Whitten Road. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
