Mary Ann Sewell Pierce, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, MS, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, February 8, 2026, at her home. She was born July 28, 1937, in Lee County, MS. She was the daughter of the late John Harrison and Ruby Irene Sewell. Ann married Julian H. Pierce Sr. on February 14, 1959. They were married for 49 years before his passing in October 2008.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a friend to many. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Community Church (formerly Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church), where she served faithfully for many years in many different capacities. Beyond her devotion to family, Ann loved to travel, had many hobbies, and loved getting together with friends to play bunco and dominoes.

Ann is survived by her children: Brenda West (Dean), Julian Pierce, Jr. (Lisa), Randall Pierce, and Kendall Pierce (Colet); grandchildren: Everette West (Lani), Andrew West, Jacob Pierce (Shelby), Emma Pierce, and Zachary Pierce, and 4 great-grandchildren: Rett, Reese, Rae Ann, and Rook West. She leaves behind two brothers, Donald Sewell (Mary) and Eddie Sewell (Peggy), and her sister, Lynn Tomlinson.

She was preceded in death by her brother, John Sewell.
