Mary Lou Smiltnieks, 76, of Olive Branch, MS passed away on Wednesday, August 02, 2017 at North Delta Hospice in Southaven. Mary Lou was a member of DeSoto Civic Garden Center, Street Tiques Car Club of Memphis, a volunteer at the Samaritans of Horn Lake, The Baddour Center and was also an avid golfer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivars Smiltnieks; her parents, Cleve, Sr. and Lucille Drannon, also one brother, Henry Drannon. Mary Lou leaves her daughter, Debbie Scheidhauer and son in-law, James; her beloved grandson, Ivan; her dear friend, Larry Bowles; two sisters: Frances Moore and Martha Poole (Scott); two brothers: Larry Drannon (Pat) and Tom Drannon (Martha). Mary Lou enjoyed a wide circle of friends across many organizations. Travel has always been an important part of her life. Visitation will be from 10 am to 11:30 am, Monday, August 7 at St. Paul Catholic Church with funeral mass immediately following. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery. The family request that any memorials are sent ASPCA, or the animal shelter of the donor''s choice.
