Mary Marie Smith, 88 passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at her home in Nesbit, MS. She leaves behind one son, Donald Smith; one brother, Thomas Kidd; four grandchildren, Melissa, Nicholas, Jessica, and Brittany; two step grandchildren, Cory and Abby; four great grandchildren; one caregiver, Travis Burgess; and one best friend, Becky Cook (Jamie). She is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Smith; her parents, Ben and Nellie Kidd; four sister, Hilda Laird, Orene Kidd, Faye Kidd and Mae Kidd; and one brother, Ralph Kidd.

Marie was a longtime member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Hernando, MS where she spent a lot of time with family and friends. Marie was a very kind hearted, happy, loving and giving woman. No matter who was in the room with her, her eyes would light up and that pretty smile of hers would shine bright. She was an amazing cook and would cook your "favorite meal" for you anytime she could. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, gardening and the occasional trip to the Casino's in Tunica, MS. She was the "nicest old gal on the block" and will be missed by many.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 10:00-11:00a.m. with funeral services starting at 11:00a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 545 E Commerce St., Hernando, MS 38632. Burial will follow at Forest Hill South Cemetery 2545 E Holmes Rd., Memphis, TN 38118.
