Mary E. Wade "Mimi", 89, of Somerville, TN. went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 14, 2025. A precious and loving soul, Mary was kind and gentle to all whom she came in contact. Along with reading and watching her favorite mysteries, her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Born in Memphis, TN. Dec. 8th, 1935, Mary attended Sacred Heart High School where she was captain of the volleyball team and even had a stint as a student - flying a junior patrol plane at 16 years of age.
As Educator: She earned her Bachelors and Master of Education at "then" Memphis State University and spent 37+ years serving as a mathematics teacher in public and private schools.
Mary was preceded in passing by her father: Bernard Joseph Gillen and mother: Jesse Louise Neely Gillen, her two sons: Mark Joseph Wade and Michael Patrick Wade, and her brother: Joe Gillen.
She leaves behind: Her husband, George Wade Jr. ,her sister: Margaret Lenahan (Jeff), her daughters: Teresa Jordan (Ken) and Mary Elizabeth Wade, her sons: George Wade III (Donna) and John Leonard Wade (Tonya), her daughter-in-law: Sandy Wade McConnell (Mike), her Grandchildren: Elizabeth Mann (Michael), Jay Lyles, Heather Adams (Jesse), George Wade IV (Audrey), Annie Kelly (Devin), Allie Ginn (Connor), Tiffany Leuck (Chris), Natalie Ward (Chris), Valerie Caldwell (John), Michael Wade(Susan), Matthew, Mitchell , Meagan, MaKenzi , Joshua, Sophia, Jordan, Angelina, and Jace. She also leaves behind 32 great grandchildren.
