Mary Theresa Woodend, 85, of Youngsville, NC passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on December 1, 2025.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She spent her life dedicated to her family, friends, and community. A woman of unwavering faith, she was a sincere and true Christ-like example. She faced life's challenges with grace, wisdom, and humility. When anyone speaks of her, the one common quality mentioned is strength. She never gave up on herself or anyone around her. She used to say she just wanted to be productive, and she accomplished that goal in her life with flying colors.

She had a way of making everyone feel special and loved. She went above and beyond with all she did in life with selflessness, generosity, and kindness. She was an amazing cook and no matter how big or small, she put her heart and soul into everything she made. You didn't just get a glass of ginger ale at Christmas; it had to have floating pomegranate seeds in it to be more festive or a brownie for dessert had to have berries or ice cream alongside. Out of town guests that came to visit always had gifts waiting for them in their room and someone just stopping by never left empty handed. Her house was warm and welcoming, always decorated beautifully for all occasions and she was the best host for holidays, birthdays or just a brief visit.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Woodend and son Brian Woodend.

She is survived by her children, Danny (Julie), Theresa (Shelly), Jimmy (Jennifer) and Lisa, as well as 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She will be profoundly missed by all her family and friends who loved her dearly.

The funeral service will be on Saturday December 13, 2025 at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN

Visitation from 9am – 10am
