Melba S. Jones, 73, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015, at home with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Marshall Jones, a grandson, Michael JonesÍ a sister, Lee Lewis, and four brothers, Robert, W. C. James and Jodie Stevens. She was survived by three sons, William S. JonesÍ Steven O. Jones and Harold W. Letney, all of MemphisÍ three daughters, Lisa J. Rodgers, Ginger Jones and Cindy J. Thomasson, all of MemphisÍ five sisters, Anne Shirley of Bartlett, TNÍ Betty Wiley of MemphisÍ Elizabeth Brownlee of Piperton, TNÍ Laura Cook, of Byhalia, MS and Jenny Thomas of Pope, MSÍ nineteen grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She worked as a secretary, office manager, investigator and mediator for the court system and Louis Chiozza for over ten years. She managed several lounges over the years. She worked as office manager and bookkeeper over twenty years with Buddy McLemore and over ten years with River Oil Co, Mr. Fri. She was a den mother for over twenty five years with the Boy Scouts of America and TN Explorer Post. She was involved in all events with West TN Sportsman Assoc., American Duck Hunters Assoc., National Rifle Assoc and TWRA with her husband, Marshall Jones. She was an outdoor sportswoman. Loved hunting and fishing with all children. If children were involved, she was involved. Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Thursday, with services at 10 am, Friday, both services will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home midtown location on Elvis Presley.
