Melba Morris
Melba Beatrice Kline Morris, 87, of Memphis, TN, passed away on August 15, 2017, surrounded by her family. Born September 5, 1929, she is predeceased by her parents, Homer and Estella (Kendall) Kline of Chambersburg, PA, and her husband, Edwin Morris, the late pastor of Southside Baptist Church in Millington, TN.
Melba became a military wife early in her marriage and later a pastor''s wife who supported her husband in all aspects of the ministry. Her one big love was evangelism, especially with children, and there was nothing she loved more than standing in front of a group of young ones with her flannel-board teaching the Bible.
Melba is survived by her brother, Athley Kline of Chambersburg, PA; her daughters Linda (Morris) Vowell and Donna (Morris) Meyer, both of Memphis, TN; three grandsons, Justin Vowell, Jonathan Vowell, and Christian Meyer, all of Memphis, TN; numerous nephews and nieces; and hundreds, if not thousands of spiritual children and grandchildren through her decades of evangelistic ministry for her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August, 22, 2017, at 3:00 P.M., at East Side Baptist Church, in Memphis, TN, with Pastor Finley Cutshaw officiating. A brief visitation will occur from 2:00-3:00 just prior to the service. Forest Hill Funeral Home are handling the funeral arrangements.
