Mh "Harold"
Lipscomb
Apr 10, 1933 — Jan 12, 2023
MH "Harold" Lipscomb, 89, of Simpsonville, SC died peacefully with his wife and daughter by his side. He was born on April 10, 1933 in Lexington, TN to Pearl and Marvin Lipscomb. After graduating from Bartlett High School Harold joined the US Army. He was first deployed to Japan, and then on to Korea to serve our country during the Korean War. In the early 60's he met the love of his life Helen Galbreath Lipscomb. In 1969 Harold and Helen opened Lipscomb Country Hams with his parents. They ran the ham store for 32 years until retirement in 2001.
Harold was a gifted storyteller, an avid fisherman, and he loved fishing with his best buddy Jamie Parker. He also loved playing with his grandkids and great-grandkids, and had the privilege to watch every one of them grow into amazing adults. More than anything Harold loved spending time with his wife. They enjoyed traveling, playing cards and Mexican Train with friends and family, and sharing the love of Jesus with everyone. Harold was a Gideon, and he and Helen were active members of both Trafalgar Village Baptist Church and Leawood Baptist Church, for many years.
Harold is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen; a daughter, Stacie Lipscomb Blanks(Hal), a daughter-in-law, Sandra Lipscomb; grandchildren, Amy Winter(Mark), Jeremiah Lipscomb(Taylor), Josiah Lipscomb, Bethany Clemente(Keith), Benjamin Blanks and Annakate "Miss Carson" Blanks; great-grands, Nicklaus Moore, Ryan Winter, and Madden Lipscomb; a niece, Debra Searcy who was instrumental in his care giving; a son by God's grace, Darryl Moss; and many more extended family whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Harold Lipscomb; a sister Doris Lipscomb Fuller; and a brother Don Edward Lipscomb.
A visitation will take place at Forest Hills East chapel on Saturday, January 28, from 1:00-2:00; followed immediately by a celebration of life at 2:00.
