Michael Jerry Hillyard, 61, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on September 30, 2024. He was born February 20, 1963 in Memphis, Tennessee in Shelby County. He was the son of Virgil L. Hillyard and Billie Faye Hillyard.

He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Hillyard.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Deborah Jones Hillyard of Memphis; his children, Courtney Bumgardner (Terry) of Bartlett, TN., Richard Hillyard (Michelle) of Bartlett, TN., Amie West of Santa Rosa Beach, FL., and Ashley West of Arlington, TN.; his brothers, Randy Hillyard (Bobbie Jo) of Memphis, TN., Danny Hillyard (Lisa) of Bartlett, TN., Jack Armstrong (Laurie) of Memphis, TN.; his sisters, Tiffany Schmidt (Tony) of McPherson, KS., Tina Hawkins (Al) of Bartlett, TN., and Elizabeth Yani of Phoenix, AZ. He also leaves behind nine beautiful grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, family and loving, great friends.

Michael retired from The Memphis Fire Department as an EMT, after serving for 20 years (2002-2022). He graduated from First Assembly Christian School. He enjoyed retirement, traveling, cheering on his Arkansas Razorbacks and spending time at the beach. He attended Hope Church in Cordova.
