Michael Julian Nelson, 60, of Mountain View, AR., passed quietly into the presence of his Lord Jesus on November 18, 2024 after a short illness at Stone County Medical Center; surrounded by four of five remaining siblings and loved ones. Michael was born on July 25, 1964 with Down's Syndrome to the late Martha and Henry Nelson of Millington, TN., and was the youngest of five boys and 3 girls. Michael had been cared for since 2015 by Martha and John Hill along with help from his brother, Christian Nelson.

Michael was a joy to his family and had an infectious smile and always glad to see you. Michael could tell you if asked, the birth date of any family member. He didn't need a calendar or cell phone. He was so excited when he graduated from a Special Needs public school in Memphis TN at the age of 21. He also attended Special Services Learning Center in Mountain View where he learned basic writing and math skills and worked in the warehouse in the afternoons. He was proud of his accomplishments.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Nelson and sister Karen Nelson Hanson. He is survived by five siblings; Martha Hill (John) and Christian Nelson of Mountain View AR., Elizabeth Thompson (Randy) of Fayetteville AR., Stephen Nelson (Lorna) of Hickory Valley TN. and Alexander Nelson (Thoung) of Southaven, MS..

Michael was a member of School Avenue Church of Christ in Mountain View and always enjoyed the fellowship of other members and had a special love for his Pastor. A memorial service will be held at the church at a later date; to be announced. Entombment for Michael was at Memphis Funeral Home Forest Hill East.
