Michael Wayne Roberts, affectionately known as “Mike” and “Mustard,” passed away peacefully at his home in Lebanon, Kentucky, on June 11, 2026, at the age of 65.

Born on December 27, 1960, in Memphis, Tennessee, Mike was the son of Joy Lynne Wilfong Roberts and the late William Roland Roberts Sr. He never met a stranger and rarely passed up an opportunity to tell a story, crack a joke, or make someone laugh. Whether you knew him for a lifetime or met him for five minutes, chances are you remembered him.

Mike spent much of his life working in the propane industry, a field in which he became widely respected for his knowledge and expertise. He began his career with the family business, Dealers LP Equipment, before founding Bluegrass Meter. He later established Commercial Propane Service, which he owned and operated until its sale in 2024. To customers, coworkers, and friends, Mike was a walking encyclopedia of propane systems and equipment, always willing to share what he knew and help solve a problem.

Away from work, Mike enjoyed music, NASCAR, fishing, classic cars, movies, and family gatherings. He loved  playing and listening to music, a race weekend, time on the water, and any excuse to be surrounded by family and friends. He was known for his quick wit, his sense of humor, and his ability to turn ordinary moments into stories that would be told for years. From Halloween costumes and practical jokes to being a tyrant while playing Monopoly, Mike had a way of making sure there was never a dull moment when he was around.

More than anything, Mike loved his family. He shared countless adventures, holidays, meals, vacations, and laughs with those closest to him. He was a constant presence in the lives of his wife, children, brothers, nieces, nephews, and friends, and the memories he created with them will continue to bring smiles for years to come.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, William Roland Roberts Sr.; his brother, William Roland “Bill” Roberts Jr.; and his nephews, Eric Todd Roberts Jr. and John David Roberts, also his niece,  Nichole Elizabeth Warren.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Wilbourn Roberts of Lebanon, Kentucky; his daughter, Adrian Nichole Roberts of Pensacola, Florida; his son, Zachary Michael Roberts of Lebanon, Kentucky; his mother, Joy Roberts; his brothers, Todd Roberts and Tim Roberts; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

The family finds comfort in the many memories they shared with Mike and in knowing that his stories, laughter, and love for those around him will live on through everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
