Michael Philip Sobczak, 60 of Memphis, TN, passed away in his home on Sept 16, 2015. He was born on November 10, 1954 in Chicago, IL. He was a beloved father and grandfather, an avid University of Memphis basketball fan, and a graduate of Memphis State University. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Louis Sobczak, and Florene Tallent Sobczak. He is survived by his son, Christopher Sobczak (Melanie) of Germantown, step-son Robert McKight (Sarah) of Hernando, MS, his companion Mitzi Milligan, his brothers David (Julia) and Rusty (Sherri) and sister Sharon Smith (Ralph). He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren, Cal, Coen, and Brody. His visitation will be 5-7p.m. Friday, September 18th at St. Brigid Catholic Church at 7801 Lowrance Rd, Memphis, TN 38125 and his funeral will be at 1:30p.m. Saturday, September 19th at the St. Brigid Catholic Church with interment at Forest Hill Cemetery East. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Wings Cancer Foundation at 100 N. Humphreys Blvd. Memphis, TN 38120.
