Michael A. West, 58, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, June 3, 2015. He was a medical specialist in the US Army. He was a faithful employee of Methodist Hospital for 34 years. He loved fishing, the University of Memphis Tigers basketball and was a loyal Peyton Manning fan. He was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Naomi Ruth West and his brother, Timothy West. He is survived by his wife, Shelia West; children, Michael B. (Stephanie) West, Melanie West, Bryan Gross and Sonya (Gary) Wendell. He is also survived by his father, Bobby West; brothers, Steve West, David (Sharon) West; and his sister, Michelle (Butch) Andrews and sister-in-law Doris West. He leaves behind Lauren Turner and 11 other grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was loved by his family, extended family and all of his friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Methodist LeBonheur Humanitarian Fund. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 8 and funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 9 at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, South.
