Mildred Ely Barnett, 98, passed away Tuesday, June 21st in Chattanooga, TN. She always considered herself a Mississippi Delta girl even after raising her family in Memphis and spending the last 3 years in Chattanooga. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where she was an active member of the MMM''s.

If you knew her you will always remember her strong will and quick wit.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon Barnett Sr., and daughter, Pamela Ely Barnett Hixson. She is survived by son Leon Barnett Jr. (Glenda), daughter Barbara Barnett Holt (Bob), sister Frony Ely Clark of Cleveland, MS, 7 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 25th in Memorial Park Southwoods on Hacks Cross Road. You are welcome to gather with the family afterwards at the Homewood Suites behind Hampton Inn on Winchester and Hacks Cross Road.
