Obituary

Mildred "Virginia" Baskin, 91, was united with her Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ, on April 11, 2020. She passed away peacefully at Baptist Reynolds
Hospice House in Collierville, Tennessee.
Virginia was born in Pontotoc, Mississippi, on January 10, 1929, to George
Albert and Maedell Holloway Crosby. She was married to John Richard
Baskin, who preceded her in death. Together they raised three children
who were her pride and joy.
Virginia worked for the Chief of Naval Technical Training at the Millington
Naval Air Station in Millington, Tennessee, until her retirement in 1989.
After retiring she enjoyed visiting with friends, walking the track, and eating
lunch at the Gaisman Community Center. She could never pass up a good
yard sale and was always on the hunt for a bargain. She was a regular at
Tops Barbeque every Sunday afternoon after church. She was also known
to love any kind of ice cream.
She was a faithful member of National Avenue Baptist Church for almost
50 years. Later, she joined Graham Heights Baptist Church, which
changed to Still Waters Baptist Church when it moved to Eads, Tennessee.
She is survived by her son, David Baskin; her daughters, Kim Bock (David)
and Lisa Bailey (Tom); grandchildren Ashley Roebuck (Randy) and Emily
Bock, Mark and Matthew Bailey; great-grandchildren Kaylee and Jace
Roebuck.
She also leaves her brother G.A. Crosby (Jackie) and numerous nieces and
nephews.
She will be laid to rest at a private graveside service at Forest Hill
Memorial Park East on Saturday, April 18 .
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial donation be made in her
name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of the donor's choice
