Mildred Ruth Flake Hodges, 89 years young, went to be with Jesus on Friday, April 7, 2017. She was born on November 12, 1927 to the late Lessie and Luther Flake in Walnut, Mississippi. Mildred worked for Hunter Fan and was a long time homemaker. She took in five of her sisters and brothers when her mother was killed in a car wreck. She was a loving woman, always a smile on her face, and wanted to feed the world. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd, who went to be with Jesus on the same day five years ago, at the same age. She leaves her daughters, Brenda Roberts and Linda Toner, and three of the siblings, Cloyce Johnson, Billy Flake and Gene Flake. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 12 noon Thursday, April 13 until service begins at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, East with interment following.
