Obituary

Mildred Blanz Renick, 83, of Memphis, TN passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Methodist Hospital Germantown surrounded by her family. Millie, also known as Mamaw to her grandchildren, was a homemaker and retired from the Memphis Airport Authority. She was a committed Christian, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a faithful member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Southside High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lillie Mae Blanz, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joe Thomas Renick, three daughters, Paula Ross (Elbert) of Mt. Juliet TN, Beth Avanzi (Joe) of Bartlett TN, and Becky Roberts (Jeff) of Germantown TN, brother, Donald Blanz of Houston TX, seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker. Among her lifelong passions were her family, quilting, needlework, and reading. She devoted her life to her family, her friends, and her Savior. She was greatly loved and she loved greatly. Visitation will be at Forest Hill Funeral Home East, 2440 Whitten Road on Thursday, February 4, from 12 - 2 p.m., with the funeral following at 2 p.m. The family requests that any memorials in her name be sent to Ridgeway Baptist Church, the American Diabetes Association , the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society .
