Myra Gillespie Akins' Obituary
Myra Akins, 72, passed away on May 10, 2021. She is survived by her sons, Ricky H. Akins Jr and Eric P. Akins. She will also be greatly missed by brothers Kenny Gillespie (Kathy) and Steve Gillespie (Paula) and sister Judy Shaw (John) and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Gerri Gillespie, and by her beloved husband of 20 years, Ricky H. Akins Sr.
Myra graduated from Westwood High School in Memphis, then started her career in the bakery industry, first at the old Taystee Bakery and then at the Wonder Bread Company where she retired.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Forest Hill Memorial Park East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis TN 38133.
