Myrtle Jane Richerson Inman, 88, of Germantown, TN passed away on September 11, 2022 at Baptist Reynold s Hospice H ouse in Collierville, TN.
Myrtle was born September 18, 1933 in Serles, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Pearl Richerson; brothers Rowe , Donald, Nolan, Claude, Raymond, John, Hugh, Bill, Dell, Allen and Wendell Richerson ; granddaughters Niki Evans and Olivia Leigh Inman, and her loving husband of 43 years , Roy Inman.
She is survived by one brother , Frank Richerson (Ruby) ; daughter Sharon Byars (Bill), and sons Clayton Inman (Michelle), Phil Inman (Ronda), Keith Inman (Cindy) and Greg Inman (Kelly); grandchildren Scotty Inman (Kasey), Jordan Andrews (Joey), Graham Inman (Catherine), Bailey Inman , Grayson Inman (Bec), Tyler Inman , Jonathan Inman , Colton Inman , Alex Inman (Rachel), Parker Inman (Aubrianna), Dawson Inman and Harrison Inman ; great-grandchildren Brady Evans , Delaney Evans , Embry Inman , Bo Inman , Tristan Andrews , Adaline Andrews , Micah Inman , Ruthie Inman , Sophia Inman , Judah Inman and Annistyn Inman .
Myrtle graduated Salu tatorian from Middleton High School in 1953 and then moved to Memphis to work in the city, where she met Roy, married , and began a family. After raising her children, she went back to nursing school in 1984 and worked as an LPN until retirement. She was a member of Bartlett Baptist Church.
Myrtle was the beautiful matriarch of the Inman family, who cultivated a love for Southern Gospel music in her children, which they continue to share today. Her legacy of faith has been passed down multiple generations, as her grandchildren serve in ministry all over the country. She will be lovingly remembered for her hardworking spirit, for being a constant presence at every concert, ballgame , graduation , and wedding , and for being the keeper of the family memories.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Me m orial Park East , 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN 38133 , with visitation beginning at 12:30 pm.
