Nancy Robbins Corbet died at the age of 87, Wednesday afternoon, January 9, 2013 at the Village of Germantown Wellness Center. She was a retired secretary for the Shelby County Board of Education and a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Corbet was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed life to the fullest, high school cheerleading, boating, waterskiing, camping, square dancing, playing bridge, and traveling. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 23 years, Benjamin (Ben) W. Payne, Jr., second husband of 37 years, Charles E. Corbet, and her sister, Peggy Robbins Tidwell. She is survived by three children, son, Bob Payne (Brenda), stepson, Paul Corbet (Linda) and stepdaughter, Julie Estes (Blaine); six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is now at home with the Lord and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m., to noon on Saturday, January 12th, 2013 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home on Whitten Road with services to follow at noon. Entombment will be in the Memorial Park Mausoleum on Poplar.
