Hickory Withe - Nancy Morrell Grinder, age 61, homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Nancy was preceded in death by her Father, Monty Morrell and her Mother, Adele P. Kissinger of Memphis. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Greg Grinder of Hickory With; two sons, Shane Grinder (Michi) of Hickory Withe and Heath Grinder (Melinda) of Hickory With; four granddaughters, Nikki Grinder, Gabbi Grinder, Jessica "Dee" Grinder, and Emily Grinder, one great-granddaughter, Cayleigh Webb and a sister Patricia Ann Rapp (Lawrence) of Memphis, TN; father-in-law J.D. Grinder of Hickory With; (preceded by Cereice, sister-in-law), Lesa Grinder White of Hickory With; three nieces, two nephews, two great-nieces; and six great-nephews; along with, at last count 110 Grinders, all blessed to have been a part of her life. Nancy was born July 4, 1952 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis, TN to Monte and Adele Morrell. She was a member of Hickory Withe Presbyterian Church. She had a love for life and her family that was the shining light for us to go by. She lived to cook for her boys, spend time with her daughters-in-law and grandbabies. Nancy never met a stranger and was always there to "hold down the fort" in a time of need for her family. Our loving mother left her earthy home on January 30, 2014 at Baptist East Hospital. Mom had battled illness for many years and was always "going to lay down a minute boys." And then right back at her chores or fixing someone something to eat, tell a story or laugh with her husband. Nancy made homemaking a profession. Momma''s career was Greg, Shane and Heath and her kitchen, then along came the daughters-in-law and those golden children known as grandbabies. Her life was complete in her eyes and she was quick to tell anyone who asked just how good her husband treated her and how her boys and their families were not only all she wanted but all she ever needed. She will be laid to rest in her final place to "lay down a minute boys" at Forest Hill East Funeral Home, with family receiving friends beginning at 12 until the service begins at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2014.
