Nancy Carol Walters Herron , 78, of Southaven, MS died Friday at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was a member of the Goodman Oaks Church of Christ. Nancy Carol Wood was born to William Clarence & Nellie Frances Wood on March 12, 1941, in Lexington, KY. Nancy married Slayton Walters and was married for 31 years. She lost Slayton to Cancer in September 1990. She married Billy Herron on July 20, 1996, who had lost his wife Betty in June 1989. They blended their families into one loving family.   She leaves behind; Husband of 23 years, Billy Alvin Herron of Southaven, MS.  Two sons, Randy Scott Walters and wife Debbie of McAlester OK, and Raymond Matthew Walters and wife Laneia of Vichy, MO. Two stepsons, Jeff Herron, John Herron, stepdaughter, Catherine Massey all of Mississippi. Two sisters; Wilma Craycroft and Doris Lee LaDow; three cousins as close as siblings, Connie Clifton, Debbie Smith, and Jimmy Holder all of Kentucky. Half-sister Naomi Wood and Half-brother Paul Wood of California. Two grandsons, Ryan and Jared Walters; Seven step-grandson, Tyler Epperson, Tyler, and Josh Herron; Dalton and Morgan Massey; Sasha and Leo Herron. Four granddaughters, Amanda Murray, Carol Russell, Rachel Walters, Deidre Kinser; One step- grand-daughter Katie Stacks. Three Great grandsons & One Great step-grandson & Six Great grand-daughters. Many nieces and nephews.  Preceding in death are her parents, five brothers, One sister and Slayton Walters. Her compassion for others led her to be actively involved in the encouragement class at the church. She is loved…and touched the lives of so many that had the pleasure of knowing her.
