IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Noel Daryl
Jackson
August 24, 1968 – June 30, 2025
Noel Daryl Jackson departed this life on Monday, June 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Noel was the eldest of five children and was born on August 24, 1968, in Chicago, Illinois, to Marcelle Williford and Perfect "Percy" Jackson. From a young age, he brought joy, laughter, and natural leadership to his family. He began his education in the Cook County public school system and later graduated from Meridian High School in southern Illinois, Class of 1986.
Noel shared a special, lifelong bond with his younger brother, David Jackson they were truly inseparable in their youth. His animated spirit and quick-witted humor became his signature, often leaving those around him in joyful laughter.
His passion for music ran deep, serving not only as a creative outlet but as a meaningful way to connect with those he loved. After high school, he attended Southeast Missouri State University, where he pledged the distinguished Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated-building a brotherhood rooted in Ieadership, scholarship, and service. He later cared a Master's degree from Bethel University.
In 1998, at the encouragement of his brother David, Noel moved to Memphis. Tennessee, to pursue new opportunities in the logistics industry. There, he planted roots and became a pillar of strength for his family, eventually inspiring his siblings to join him in Memphis for work and education.
In 2004, Noel's journey took a meaningful turn when he met the love of his life. Janice, while returning to school. He often joked about being so nervous that he brought flowers to ask her out. Though life temporarily led them in different directions, fate reunited them years later when their children attended the same high school. From that moment, their love story blossomed. Through their union, Noel became a devoted husband and loving bonus father to Alex and Adrianne, whom he embraced as his own. He also continued to cherish his daughter Charae and son Daryl. Known as "road warriors," Noel and Janice loved traveling together-driving long distances just to share a meal, a laugh, a moment with their children and grandchildren.
Noel is survived by his cherished wife, Janice Jackson; his loving mother. Marcelle Sims; and his stepfather, who helped raise him Danny Sims. He leaves behind one son, Daryl Jackson (Alexandria); three daughters, Charae Jackson (Jason), Alex Miller (Trey), and Adrianne Miller: and his beloved granddaughters, Legacie Cross and Zhuri Jackson, who melted his once-strict parenting style into the gentle love of a grandfather.
He is also survived by his siblings: David Jackson (Tammy). Daniel Sims. Dimonah "Mona" Sims (David), and Derck Sims (Jennifer): his mother-in-love. Dorothy Moore; siblings-in-love, Kelvin Payne (Sharon), Sylvia Jordan, and: uncles Sam Williford, Lee Williford, and many others who played special roles in his life; and a host of adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Noel was preceded in death by his father, Perfect "Percy" Jackson. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the promise of Matthew 5:4: "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." A new chapter begins, and we hold fast to the love, laughter, and legacy Noel Daryl Jackson leaves behind.
