Norma Jean Rieben, 84, entered into eternal peace Sunday evening, September 8, 2013 at Quince Care Center in Memphis, TN. Norma Jean was born February 10, 1929. She was the daughter of L.C. Seago and Clara Hortense Seago of Memphis, TN. Norma was a graduate of Southside High School in Memphis, TN., where she lived the majority of her life and considered herself a very proud Memphian! Of her many achievements, one of her shining moments came as a result of being selected by the Memphis Welcome Wagon committee to hand deliver Elvis Presley his "Welcome" basket when he moved into his Graceland mansion. She was absolutely thrilled by this experience, but her favorite accomplishment in life was simply being a mother! She was known as "Mom" to many and provided an endless well of wisdom and sound advice for her friends and family throughout the years. She was always there for someone in need. In addition, she loved to travel and was widely known for her exceptional "good ole" Southern cooking skills. Norma was predeceased on May 4, by her beloved husband of 17 years, James Rieben. She leaves loving memories to be cherished by her remaining family: her three loving daughters - Sherry Thompson of Olive Branch, MS, Jo Anne Harris of New York, NY, and Karla Cline of Collierville, TN, as well as her two wonderful step daughters, Kathy Downen of Olive Branch, MS and Nancy Bogart of Torrance, CA; her grandchildren: Brandon Coyle of Memphis, TN, Ben Coyle of Weehawkin, NJ, Zack McAlexander of Collierville, TN, Zane McAlexander of Hernando, MS, and Zoe McAlexander of Collierville, TN, Ali Jo Harris of New York, NY as well as John Hudson of Olive Branch, MS, Caroline Rankin of Olive Branch, MS and Lauren Bogart of Torrance, CA. She is also survived by 10 loving great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted by Forest Hills South Funeral Home on Holmes Road. Viewing will be Friday, September 13 from 5-7 p.m. at Forest Hills South Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, September 14 at 2 p.m. at Forest Hills South Funeral Home.
