Pope- Olen White, 86, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Methodist University Hospital. Service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, February 17 at Forest Hill South with visitation from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery. Mr. White is a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII and is a retired Firefighter from Memphis City Fire Department. He is a Shriner and Lions Club member of Batesville, MS, a Mason with OK Houck of Memphis, member of the VFW in Batesville and a member of Enid Lake Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. White is preceded in death by his parents, Ruben Burl and Ethel Lee Harris White; 5 siblings: Tucker and Norman White, Verna Herring, Jimmie Faye Darby and Mary Lee Champlain and one grandchild, Travis. He leaves his wife Opal Lee White; 4 children: Gerald, Wanda, Jerry and Max; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The family requests Memorial donations to Batesville, MS Lions Club.
